NCS Ltd Honors Retiring Staff and Outstanding Janitors in Heartfelt Celebration

The second Saturday of this year was a very exciting one. The Nigeria Cleaning Service Ltd. (NCS Ltd.) held a memorable event that celebrated not only the retirement of four remarkable women but also the dedication of its outstanding cleaning staff. The event underscored the company’s commitment to recognizing hard work and fostering a culture of appreciation. It was a day set aside to honors some of NCS’s location heroes – both those who have spent decades working with the companies and retiring, and those who are still very actively doing amazing jobs at their various sites.

It was a serene day with lovely weather at the iconic Clean John house, the head office of Nigeria Cleaning Service. The hall was filled with elegantly dressed guests who had gathered to celebrate a significant milestone. The occasion marked the retirement of four remarkable women who have collectively dedicated over 100 years to their careers.

Among them were Mrs. Ganiyat Osinowo, retiring as a janitor at Eko Towers; Mrs. Elizabet Ubua, also retiring as a janitor at Mobil; Mrs. Lovelyn Nwachukwu, concluding her tenure as site supervisor at Crystal Specialist Hospital; and Mrs. Aishat Shuaibu from GSK Ilupeju.

This grand celebration brought together friends, family, and members of NCS management to honor these women’s dedication and commitment to their roles over the years.

And the party begins!

Beyond honoring the retiring women, the company also took the opportunity to recognize the efforts of its active staff, demonstrating that hard work truly pays off. NCS Ltd. boasts a staff strength of over 1,000 people across Nigeria, with a significant portion working as janitors, gardeners, housekeepers, security personnel, and electrical and civil technicians seconded to various client offices.

The highlight of the event was the awarding of the top 20 outstanding janitors for the year 2024. The selection process was rigorous, involving inputs from client representatives, site inspectors, and the Operations and Human Resources departments. After weeks of deliberation, the worthy awardees were finally chosen.

The event was enlivened by the company’s Customer Relationship Officer, Joseph Omotehinse, who served as the host and MC. His witty banter and energetic presence kept the atmosphere festive. A dance battle between Joseph R.O and an elderly lady had the crowd roaring with laughter, with the crowd siding with the woman when a winner was announced. The retiring women each shared heartfelt expressions of gratitude to the management of Nigeria Cleaning Service Ltd. They warmly recounted their experiences, challenges, and joys during their long tenures with the company, encouraging the younger staff to maintain their focus and diligence.

Managing Director Mr. Dayo Johnson, a Liverpool FC fan, was present and in high spirits throughout the program. He even led the cutting of the two beautifully crafted cakes, a gesture that underscored the importance of the occasion.
